Here are some frequently asked questions…

There are a few very common questions that get asked by clients of mine before I start working with them. Before I begin working with you and your dog, please take a look at the frequently asked questions below. If your question hasn’t been answered, please check the Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the page or feel free to contact me.

Yes, I am insured with Pet Business Insurance. I have a certificate I can produce on request.

Yes, I am insured to walk and/or train banned breeds. Tails of Adventure has never and will never discriminate against any breed.

Yes, I am an independent dog walker. It will always be me who comes for your dog.

This is one of the more common frequently asked questions. I am a solo-only dog walker, however, I understand that people may have a multi-dog household. If you are a multi-dog household I will walk all your dogs together as long as there are no more than four. If you have more than four dogs they will be split into groups which will mean paying for two slots for your dogs.

Yes, this is so you can meet me and see if I am a fit for you and your pet. At the same time, this allows me to see if you and your pet are a fit for me too. If we are all agreed and happy we will make arrangements.
Meet & Greets are free of charge.

You can see my qualifications over in the gallery for verification but I have First Aid, Animal Training & Pet Sitting and Canine Coaching.

Your dog will always be walked local to your home unless otherwise discussed. Clients who wish me to transport their dog in the car to a specific area for their walk should be aware that this will incur an extra charge.

Dogs will only ever be off leash if a prior agreement has been made via the Meet & Greet and signing of the contract. Clients should be aware that the first few walks will be done on lead to build trust first.

Yes, if you wish to go on a test walk during the Meet & Greet please let me know. Clients should be aware there will be a charge for this time.
Meet & Greets are free, so you will only be charged for the test walk time.

I want to reassure you that your dog will NEVER be punished. If your dog is unruly on walks, positive reinforcement and redirection will be used. I will also be in touch with you to tell you what happened and to discuss options in regards to moving forward with your dog.

I prefer to do contact via Facebook, Whatsapp and text message, this is so we both have everything in writing and don’t have the issue with who said what. However, I will do phone calls if this is your preferred method. If I start caring for your pet I am happy to send updates on your pet’s time with me as well as photos and videos.

Yes, within reason. I will not walk any dogs in extreme weather, such as high temperatures, freezing temperatures, blizzards, significant snowfalls, storms and torrential rain/hail.

Not everyone works regular hours so may not be able to definitively say when you need me. If you work irregular or shift hours let me know as soon as you can if you are going to need me. Normally 2 – 3 days in advance but the more notice you can give me the better.
